"THE FLYING CONSTABLE JACK CONES"
Twentynine Palms, California
Painting dedicated on January 27, 1996 by Tim O' Connor of Twentynine Palms, California
Photographed by Gerald Thurman of Tempe, Arizona
The Flying Constable Jack Cones

In the 1930's, Jack Cones was elected sheriff and patrolled his 2,800-square mile jurisdiction using his Piper J-3 Cub airplane. His exploits were later fictionalized on both radio and TV under the "Sky King" programs.

"The Flying Constable Jack Cones" was artist Jim O'Connor's first mural, but he has since painted several other murals and continues to work as a professional artist and graphic designer in the Twentynine Palms area. More information about his career is online here.

The artist may be contacted at O'Connor Graphics.

The mural is located at 6308 Adobe Road, in Twentynine Palms.
