"These Boots are Made for Talking," a fundraising
project of the Cheyenne Depot Museum Foundation, was
produced by local artists. Several of these eight-foot
tall cowboy boots were placed in and around downtown
Cheyenne in the summer of 2004. This one depicting
a speeding steam engine was located near the entrance
of the former Union Pacific Train Depot on West 15th
Street. It was sold at auction and its current location
is unknown. In the spring and summer of 2005, seventy-five
additional examples of boot-art were placed on display,
but this second wave of boots were life-sized -- only
16 inches tall!
